“ | Are you sick too? | ” |
—Asagi Hizuki |
Asagi Hizuki is a hostile female spirit in Fatal Frame IV: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. She was a long-haired child patient who was hospitalized in Haibara Infirmary. She was diagnosed as suffering from the symptoms of Moonlight Syndrome.
Biography[]
One of the youngest patients to contract Moonlight Syndrome, Shigeto Haibara took particular interest in her, proposing experimental operations as a way to cure her. Asagi refused at first, hearing stories from others that patients who went through the procedures came out worse than before. At some point either she changed her mind or was pressured to change her mind. Once the surgery was done, Asagi complained of her head “turning red”, her hair falling out, and she cried tears of blood. In her notes she says she's in constant pain.
She would end up doing multiple more surgeries, after the reassurance of her mother, but her condition only seemed to get worse. Asagi would end up eventually flat lining during a procedure with staff attempting to revive her to no avail. She was later pronounced dead with an "unknown" cause of death.
Asagi appears as a mandatory encounter in Chapter 4 during Choushiro's exploration of the infirmary. She also appears with Miyoshi Tsukigase and Iori Aiba at the Dining Room in Mission 3-1 against Madoka Tsukimori and 7-2 with Kazuto Amaki and Shie Sonosaki.
