The Boat of Passing (籠舟 Kagobune) is a litter styled boat used for the woman who will become Tattooed Priestesses. Once a woman is selected to become the next maiden, they use a litter in water to travel to the Kuze Shrine, being rocked by the rough waters. When not in use, it is stored in the entrance of the shrine, suspended in the air.
The boat can be seen up close in Hour VI while Rei travels along the rafters of the shrine.
