The Final Impalement is a ritual in Fatal Frame III: The Tormented. It is used as a last resort if all Sacrificial Pillars failed to prevent the Unleashing.
It is where Hisame Kuze was ordered by Yashuu to carry out the this ritual. It was necessary as the Tattooed Priestess's eyes reflected pain back and caused the Unleashing to occur. The Rift was spreading too fast to be contained simply by the sacrifices of Shrine Carpenters alone, so the Handmaidens had to give in and take their lives too.
The eldest and/or most responsible Handmaiden is ordered to impale and kill the other Handmaidens before presumably killing herself. The ritual of the Sacrificial Pillars is also performed along with this ritual if it is needed. In the case of Hisame, she was forced to perform the ritual by the Kuze Family Head to help contain the Rift, alongside the carpenters. The ritual took place in the Enclosed Room, above the Sacrificial Pillar Room, a significant location in between the Shrine of Sleep and the Rift Shrine.
