—Flamekeeper |
Flamekeepers were priests who watched over the Forbidden Flame, which was a sacred fire with a special significance in the rituals of Mt. Hikami. The flames drive away black water, but were too strong for the human eye to bear, which would explain why the Flamekeepers conceal their faces with veils. They also constructed Reliquaries in a workshop at the Hall of Fire, painting them with ink made from black water. The said sacred flame was also used to light the lanterns at the Shrine of the Ephemeral to ensure that the water remains pure as it flows down the mountain.
They were slaughtered together by Kyozo Kururugi during his murderous rampage across the mountain.
Battle[]
Flamekeepers are typically battled alone or in groups of two or three. The Flamekeeper has three main attacks:
- Dashing quickly towards the player
- Moving forward while waving their flame
- Swaying their flame to send fireballs towards the player.
Most annoyingly, however, a Flamekeeper can place down a staff. Should they have their health depleted, they will immediately return back to a staff that was placed down to regain health instead of entering a Fatal Glance state. The staff can also be placed in backgrounds and behind walls behind the reach of the player's camera. Alternatively, one Flamekeeper can head to another to have them heal him though this leaves the healer vulnerable to a Fatal Glance.
