Not much is known about Kyouko other than she was a patient at Haibara Infirmary and was a participant in Shigeto’s experiments for Moonlight Syndrome. At the time of her death she was hanging upside-down in the basement. However, she was left in that state when the Day of Tranquility began and was forgotten amongst the chaos. It is unknown if her death was caused by her being upside-down or if she was killed by Sakuya.
