Shie Sonosaki was a nurse from Rougetsu Island. She was in charge of looking after the only patient on the Fourth Floor Isolation Ward of Rougetsu Hall, Sakuya Haibara.
History[]
Not much is known about Shie prior to her employment as a nurse, however, she worked directly for Shigeto Haibara’s, she not only helped him with procedures but also as primary care taker for his daughter, Sakuya. However, she began to get strange feelings about Sakuya shortly after being placed in her care, believing she has no face and would sometimes forget her own patient’s name.
After the failed Rite of Descent, Shie was still in charge of Sakuya despite her comatose state and was moved the bottom of the hospital to be closer to Sakuya’s altar. However, she was also moved to working the 3rd floor at Rogetsu Hall after the death of previous nurse, Tsubaki, during the Rogetsu Kagura. Shie notated in her notes she felt an uneasy atmosphere while she was head nurse and deaths were more common than before. Her fears become more intense to Sakuya, fully believing when she awoke something horrible would happen and could not shake the feeling of impending doom.
These fears were soon justified as two years after the failed rite, Sakuya did awaken with a fully bloomed face, triggering everyone who saw her to bloom as well. Shie, in absolute fear, hid under her desk, but was unfortunately found shortly afterwards and most likely died from blooming.
