—Shino Kururugi

Shino Kururugi is a female spirit who appears in Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water. She wears a red kimono and hangs in midair, suspended from a rope around her neck. She was the sister of Kyozo Kururugi. Kyozo murdered a man as retribution for an unknown crime against Shino, but she ended up heartbroken. She went to Mt. Hikami and killed herself at the Hanging Tree as she was being watched by a Maiden of Black Water. After death, she was tainted by the overflow of black water from the Shadowspring and her spirit returned corrupted, killing others who ventured into the mountain. She was responsible for the death of Tomoki Harakawa, dragging him to his death, and almost influenced Rui Kagamiya into doing the same thing he did.
