The Shrine on the Water is a shrine located in the middle of the Lake of the Departed, and is only accessible by shrine maidens who are chosen to sail in the Boat of Passage. Those who are powerful make it through the shrine and to the Shadowspring.
After the mountain was abandoned, so was this shrine. Although legends of a shrine out in the mist-shrouded lake persisted, this shrine was never found, and even when other shrines such as the Shrine of Dolls and Shrine of the Ephemeral were restored in an attempt to attract tourism, the Shrine on the Water was left in its ruined, untouched state.
Hisoka Kurosawa is found inside a reliquary by Yuri Kozukata in the inner sanctum of the shrine.
